Artist Bio

Sarah Bataille, a South Florida native, graphic designer, illustrator and content strategist, is currently based in North Carolina in pursuit of her M.A. in English and African-American Literature at North Carolina A&T State University. With the influences of her Haitian heritage and the African-American culture as a whole, Sarah makes it a point to center her work around Black women through the use of various abstract shapes, nature-based elements, and warm earth tones. The purpose of her designs is to tell a unique and poignant story, along with shining a light, on the beauty, extraordinary and ordinary elements of the Black experience.


Sarah has spent the past several years doing Graphic Design projects and Content Strategy for various non-profits and small start-ups that have either focused on beauty, lifestyle, health and wellness. The programs she uses include: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Fresco, Affinity Designer, Procreate and Canva Pro. Her style of design incorporates a minimal, yet creative touch with guaranteed high-quality results that cater to the client’s voice and branding needs.


So, what exactly is a multi-hyphenate creative?


It's an actual term (Google it. I promise the word is there! LOL) used to describe those of us who refuse to box ourselves in to a specific niche!


Basically, we are good at multiple things and choose to operate or even intertwine all of our various gifts and creative interests.


& that big two that I noted on my home page? It's just a clever way of showing y'all that multi-hyphenates are still capable of niching down without actually niching down.


What I mean is that for a majority of us, the passions we have often overlap and still can be categorized under an overarching term. For me, my "umbrellas" are graphic design and content strategy.

Content Planning

Content planning for TMP involved fostering conversations and providing helpful tips about motherhood, finance, mental health and faith through various graphics that were both appealing and valuable to TMP's target audience.

During this process, a content calendar is used to organize ideas, describe the content form (image, reel or graphic) and note the days in which content would be uploaded.

When choosing images for TMP, I intentionally choose images that were light, airy and often centered Black and Brown women.

As for the graphics themselves, I created them with the intent of sharing transferable and easy to digest information. This looks like creating "savable" and "shareable" content!

The "meat" of it all when it comes to creating intentional and relatable content is found in a brand's voice and messaging. Curating captivating captions (okay alliteration!) involves honing into what a client's target audience might want to hear and how they would want to hear it.

I had a hand in creating effective, concise copy that would translate well across TMP's various social media channels such as Instagram and Facebook.

TMP's messaging required a brand voice that would appeal to women across multiple generations.
